- Jesse Harlin

This song comes from the video game Republic Commando. I love it so much because it sort of helped jump start Karen Traviss and all the work she has done on the Mandalorian culture because this song and a few other Mandalorian songs were written by Jesse Harlin for the video game and then when Karen Traviss was writing the first Republic Commando book she was able to work on creating a more in-depth language. These are the Mandalorian words, obviously, so now I’m going to provide the Basic translation (yes, Basic is just the Star Wars way of saying ‘English’).

Glory!

One indomitable heart, Brothers all.
We, the wrath of Coruscant, Brothers all.
And glory, eternal glory,
We shall bear its weight together.
Forged like the saber in the fires of death, Brothers all.

[Bass Vocals]
Those who stand before us light the night sky in flame.
Our vengeance burns brighter still.
Every last traitorous soul shall kneel.

Those who stand before us light the night sky in flame.
Our vengeance burns brighter still.
Every last traitorous soul shall fall.

In case you didn’t realize, Vode An translates to ‘Brothers All’.

As a side note and completely unrelated to Star Wars, I'm starting my first day of classes at my new college, John Jay College in New York City. I'm not much of a city person, and it's going to be interesting to see how my dog adjusts to the city from the suburbs. Here goes nothing, oya!
