Wash Away

I got troubles oh, but not today
Cause they’re gonna wash away
They’re gonna wash away

And I have sins Lord, but not today
Cause they’re gonna wash away
They’re gonna wash away

And I had friends oh, but not today
Cause they’re done washed away
They’re done washed away

And oh, I’ve been cryin’
And oh, I’ve been cryin’
And oh, no more cryin’
No, no more cryin’ here

We get along Lord, but not today
Cause we gonna wash away
We gonna wash away

And I got troubles oh, but not today
Cause they gonna wash away
This old heart gonna take them away

- Joe Purdy

This song I first heard on LOST in the episode “Tabula Rasa”. It was in the first season when Hurley is listening to music on his cd player, and I think it was when everyone was moving from the beach into the caves. It’s been a while since I saw the first season, but it was definitely in “Tabula Rasa”. Every so often I get the urge to re-watch LOST, but I know it's a huge time investment and I just haven't been able to commit to watch all six seasons again. Maybe one day.

Time Bomb

(Tick Tock Tick Tock)

Verse 1:
Come to me the moon is closer
Then your eyes (then your eyes)
I can barley see through the cracks that shines out my scars
Sirens scream in vein
I have already died a million times inside

Chorus:
I surrender
Shoot me down
No bullet could
Stop me now

My love does not depend
On anyone or anything
It will never die

Verse 2:
Ticking like a time bomb
Soon to blow away
I am not you
You are not me
It still plays
I could say i love you
If only for a day
amongst this sunken ship
I am drowning in

Chorus:
I surrender
Shoot me down
No bullet could
Stop me now

My love does not depend
On anyone or anything
It will never die

Ticking like a time bomb
Ticking like a time bomb
Ticking like a time bomb
Ticking like a time bomb

Chorus:
I surrender
Shoot me down
No bullet could
Stop me now

My love does not depend
On anyone or anything
It will never die

Tick Tock Tick Tock
Tick Tock Tick Tock

- Jessy Greene

Another great song from Burn Notice. This is from the Season 2 finale, when Michael tells Management, “I’ll take my chances” without Management’s protection against whatever evils and enemies Michael has hiding out in the world.

“As a spy working for a government, you’re protected. You may work solo but you have agreements with other spy agencies. Even when you’re surrounded by your enemies, that protects you. When your entire career consists of making enemies, there’s no greater danger than being totally cut off. Alone. When you find yourself out in the cold, all you can do is put your head down and try to survive.”

Your Call

Waiting for your call, I’m sick, call I’m angry
call I’m desperate for your voice
Listening to the song we used to sing
In the car, do you remember
Butterfly, Early Summer
It’s playing on repeat, Just like when we would meet
Like when we would meet

Cause I was born to tell you I love you
and I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine
Stay with me tonight

Stripped and polished, I am new, I am fresh
I am feeling so ambitious, you and me, flesh to flesh
Cause every breath that you will take
when you are sitting next to me
will bring life into my deepest hopes, What’s your fantasy?
(What’s your, what’s your, what’s your…)

Cause I was born to tell you I love you
and I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine
Stay with me tonight

And I’m tired of being all alone, and this solitary moment makes me want to come back home
And I’m tired of being all alone, and this solitary moment makes me want to come back home

And I’m tired of being all alone, and this solitary moment makes me want to come back home

And I’m tired of being all alone, and this solitary moment makes me want to come back home
(I know everything you wanted isn’t anything you have)

Cause I was born to tell you I love you
and I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine
Stay with me tonight

Cause I was born to tell you I love you
and I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine
Stay with me tonight
(I know everything you wanted isn’t anything you have)

Voodoo Child

you’re like voodoo baby,
you just take hold.
put your cards on the table baby,
do i twist do i fold?

you’re like voodoo honey
all silver and gold?
why don’t you tell me my future?
why don’t i sell you my soul.

so here it comes – the sound of drums.
here comes the drums, here comes the drums ?

baby, baby, baby!
you are my voodoo child – my voodoo child

don’t say maybe, maybe
it’s supernatural – i’m coming undone?

you’re like voodoo baby,
your kisses are cold!
feel your poison running through me?
let me never grow old.

you’re like voodoo honey,
my pictures you stole?
you play me like a puppet.
sticking pins in a doll!

so here it comes – the sound of drums.
here comes the drums, here comes the drums ?

baby, baby, baby!
you are my voodoo child – my voodoo child

don’t say maybe, maybe
it’s supernatural – i’m coming undone?

(repeat)

I heard this song in Doctor Who, series 3. Made me smile considering how well the lyrics fit to the story so thought I'd put it up just for fun.

Quote of the Week: Doctor Who

"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and... bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant."

Why Should I Worry?

One minute I'm in Central Park
Then I'm down on Delancey Street
From the Bow'ry to St Marks
There's a syncopated beat

Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo
I'm streetwise
I can improvise
Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo
I'm streetsmart
I've got New York City heart

Why should I worry?
Why should I care?
I may not have a dime
But I got street savoire faire
Why should I worry?

Why should I care?
It's just bebopulation
And I got street saviore faire

The rhythm of the city
But once you get it down
Then you can own this town
You can wear the crown

Why should I worry?
Why should I care?
I may not have a dime
But I got street savoire faire
Why should I worry?
Why should I care?
It's just bebopulation
And I got street saviore faire

Ev'rything goes
Ev'rything fits
They love me at the Chelsea
They adore me at the Ritz

Why should I worry?
Why should I care?
And even when I cross that line
I got street savoire faire

Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo

If you haven't seen the Disney movie "Oliver and Company" then I highly suggest you go watch it. It's a classic and one of my favorites. If you have, then go watch it again. It's worth it.

More Beaded Bracelets

I've been busy making plenty of bracelets. It's so much fun to make them that I'll probably keep making them even if I don't sell a single one. Anyway, here are some more that I've made that are now included in the most recent version of the product page.

Review: Ender's Game

My very good friend recommended for me to read this book and she has yet to steer me wrong so I put it on my list of books to read. Fortunately, my cousin was able to lend it to me using her Kindle to mine. I really enjoyed it so thought I'd go ahead and put up a quick review to entice anyone to check it out.

Time of Dying

On the ground I lay
Motionless in pain
I can see my life flashing before my eyes
Did I fall asleep?
Is this all a dream
Wake me up, I'm living a nightmare

I will not die (I will not die)
I will survive

I will not die, I'll wait here for you
I feel alive, when you're beside me
I will not die, I'll wait here for you
In my time of dying

On this bed I lay
Losing everything
I can see my life passing me by
Was it all too much
Or just not enough
Wake me up, I'm living a nightmare

I will not die (I will not die)
I will survive

I will not die, I'll wait here for you
I feel alive, when you're beside me
I will not die, I'll wait here for you
In my time of dying

I will not die, I'll wait here for you
I feel alive, when you're beside me
I will not die, I'll wait here for you
In my time of dying
I will not die, I'll wait here for you
I will not die, when you're beside me
I will not die, I'll wait here for you
In my time of dying

- 3 Days Grace

I started watching the show "Supernatural" on Netflix the other day. Took me about a week to go through the first season, and I enjoyed it a lot more than I initially thought I was going to. Anyway, the season finale episode was titled "In My Time of Dying" and just by reading that I got this song stuck in my head. I figure it's a safe assumption to say they had this song in mind when they wrote up the episode because it is very appropriate for what the episode was about. I enjoyed the song even before I watched the show, but now I have another reason to listen to this song as I continue to make my way through the rest of the seasons of "Supernatural".

Random Star Wars Memories

I blame my cousin Cristina for my Star Wars obsession. If she hadn’t left that Star Wars book lying around almost 12 years ago I would never have picked it up and been sucked into the Star Wars galaxy.

It’s also because of her that I know so much. She answered every question I ever had about the movies, and since she already owned a good portion of the books she loaned them to me so I could read them. When I became an addict she became my supplier.

Then came Star Wars Trivial Pursuit. We used to play against her brother David, and there were a few lucky times when he actually beat us (but he cheated, he used to read the question cards ahead of time, that stinker). And then came a time when everyone stopped playing with us since according to the rules a player keeps going until they get a question wrong. Well, Cris and I would pretty much dominate the game and everyone else would get one, maybe two turns if they were lucky.

So then we started playing each other. I have never been more challenged in my life!! We always roll the dice to determine who goes first, and then we’ll just start answering questions, and usually whoever goes first gets almost all the little chips you need to go to the final question before the other person gets to go.

However, it’s always a close game. There was one time when Cris had all the chips and went to the “for the win” question, and I had only a few chips, and then the “for the win” question was “who was the commander of the second Death Star?” We both just stared at the screen going “we know WHO it is, but what the hell’s his name?!” (for those who are curious his name is Moff Jerrjerrod) But that kept the game going for a little bit longer since neither of us knew the answer.

Or there was one time that I was on a roll, I had only one chip left to get and then I get a question “what does the acronym AT-TE stand for?” I was stumped. I know almost any of the others, I know what AAT means, AT-AT, AT-ST, AT-PT, MTT, STAP… but I was drawing a blank on AT-TE. Well, I remember it now! It stands for All Terrain Tactical Enforcer. But that question effectively ended my question run.

When I went away to UVM a few years ago we thought we weren’t going to get to play each other for a while, and then Cris came up with an ingenious plan… She got her laptop and put it in front of the desktop computer, turned on the webcam on the desktop and then set up the game on the table and she would roll for me and ask me questions, and I could watch and be sure she wasn’t cheating when it came her turn to read questions, and we used her laptop to play the DVD. It was so much fun!

Whenever we play our games whoever wins is almost purely determined by the rolls of the dice because sometimes of us can get all the chips really quickly because the dice lets us get to those questions really quickly. Other times the dice screws us over and it takes forever, and the more questions we have the higher a chance to get something crazy like “what does AT-TE stand for” that we know the answer and are just drawing a blank on it.

Since Cris spent a few months serving as an Army nurse in Afghanistan we haven't gotten to play in months. I miss it because we always have fun no matter who wins. Now that she's back stateside hopefully we'll get a chance to play again, even if its our tried and true webcam method.

The Phantom Medley

Well a long time ago in a galaxy far far away
This guy in black was on the track of the rebels led by Leia
Hey! Luke Skywalker, they fried your uncle and aunt
So he left Tatooine with lightsaber in his pants

You can bet I wanna be a Jedi, there is no try only a do

Use use use the force, trust me Luke its neato
Listen to Ben, he’ll tell you when to launch your torpedo

It’s a ship that is flown by that Indiana Jones
And the Falcon goes flying along

He is Darth Vader, he’s a Jedi hater,
He dies much later, in Episode six

Obi-Wan Kenobi, all covered in brown,
He may cut your arm off, if you screw around

Ba la la la la la Boba, he’s the bounty hunter
After Han under that armor he’s got nuthin on

I love the Star Wars movies, the trio with out equal,
and now its time for episode one pop goes the prequel.

the phantom menace, phantom menace
who you gonna see it with, share a cola with Sebulba or have some popcorn with the Sith

Jar Jar Binks, Jar Jar Binks, his floppy ears are giant
They rendered him with a Pentium lets hope he’s Y2K compliant

Watch Pod Races in the heat, Kaboom, Kaboom
Anakin needs a booster seat, oh Tatooine day

They’ll be flying around Naboo when they come
They’ll be fightin’ Battle Droids of the Federation
Hey those light saber sounds just like electric razors
They’ll be flyin’ around Naboo when they…

Come all ye forceful, join the team ancient speeder

Queen Amidala, Amidala, Amidala
She’s a hot tamale, Natalie marry me

The saga starts with Obi-Wan Kenobi
and Qu-Gon Jinn those guys were Jedis with lightsabers and hair extensions

Anakin is a little boy but some day he will destroy the Jedi Knights and
galactic fights with ships and battle droids

He knew R2-D2 on Naboo, Luke and Leia
Ben and Yoda , Jabba, Chewie, Han and Boba, ewoks jawas and the Gungans
and the guy from Pulp Fiction

Ships attacking creatures biting and
and Darth Maul is kung fu fighting good and evil fade into history
the coolest toys in history

Episode one!

Shut-up the movie has begun

- Richard Cheese

To celebrate the release of The Phantom Menace 3D today (at the time of this post I am sitting at the movie theater waiting for the movie to start), I made a video so you can enjoy the song and watch a cool slideshow to go with it.

Updated Product Page

I made another few designs of bracelets so I updated my product page with the new pictures of the bracelets. I have three new designs, seen here:

I made this one to wear at the midnight showing of The Phantom Menace in 3D, but if anyone wants one I can make it!

This one is similar to other designs I've done, but with red instead of green or blue.

This is a new design as well.

Hope everyone likes them! And maybe even wants one...

Quote of the Week: NCIS

“Do you know what a ‘clog’ is?”

“A wooden shoe or a blocked drain?”

“No, like on the internet.”

“I thought that was a ‘blog’, but then my English is often wrong.”

- Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Ziva David

This week’s quote is thanks to NCIS and the writer’s ability to come up with some really great scenes between the characters. I have more to say about NCIS, particularly about Gibbs’ latest actions, but that is a post for another ‘clog’.

And no, I don't think this will become a regular post thing, but I do list posting quotes every now and then.

One Week!

Well, it's February 3rd! To many of you, this date probably means nothing. To me, it means that is is only one week until the release of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace in 3D.

Now, admittedly, this is my least favorite Star Wars movie of the six. Second only to Return of the Jedi. However, because George Lucas has me thoroughly whipped and brain-washed to his will, I will be spending the $10 to see a 3D movie at my local theater. What's more, I'm planning on going to the midnight showing with my cousin and some friends. I might even dress up.

I love midnight showings, though because that's when all the hardcore nerds go to the theaters. It's all the fans that know how to get along with each other because we're all as hyped up about something that not every understands. We'll all be there with our lightsabers and Star Wars t-shirts and maybe even a costume or two. It's a little bit like the crowd that goes to conventions. The kind of people that I'm the most comfortable around. And that's really why I'm looking forward to going- no judgments.

So while Episode I isn't my favorite Star Wars movie, and my cousin and I are likely to spend most of the night making fun of whiny little Anakin and Jake Lloyd's atrocious acting and how many different ways to kill Jar Jar, I'll be taking advantage of a large crowd of nerds and geeks to have a great night where we all get to be ourselves.

Bead Loom Bracelets

My latest form of entertainment has come in the form of making bead bracelets using a loom kit that my mom got for me. I had a kit like it when I was 6 years old and I made a few bracelets while I was sick with the chicken pox. It's really easy to set up and use, and it looks like this when I'm working on it:

It's a lot of fun and I've mass manufactured quite a few bracelets already. Here's some of the ones I've made so far.

I rather like the piano one myself. But then I used to play piano quite often. I don't play regularly anymore, but I still liked the bracelet. The other patterns I just made for fun.

I also did these:

When I started I had quite a good deal of trouble figuring out how to get it to work. The threads on the end were too short to tie it around my wrist, but now that I've made a few of them I finally have the knack of it. I make each about 8"- 9" long so the thread is plenty long for tying a double knot to secure it.

Part of the fun is making new patterns. I've spent the past few days looking online for new designs to make and my mom and I have gone to the craft store a lot and each time we come back with new beads to work with.

I doubt I'll keep all these bracelets for myself. In fact, I think I'm going to sell them. $5 each seems reasonable, yeah? I'd like to sell them along with the tote bags that I wrote about in this post. I still have a few of those waiting for some nice nerds to claim them, in fact.

In case anyone is interested I've gone ahead and created a product page. It's listed with my other pages on the right side of my blog. If you're interested in any of the things I've made go ahead and take a look at the product page and shoot me an email

Dilemma

I have a dilemma. On the side of my blog right over there --->
is a big white empty spot. It used to be a countdown timer for Doctor who episodes, but since it appears that BBC America took it down it is no longer functioning. Leaving my blog with a big blank hole in it. I should probably just get rid of the code and the hole would go away, but...

Well, I still am in a bit of denial that there are no new Doctor Who episodes until the fall, and taking down the countdown makes me sad. Even though nothing is there.

So until I move from my denial into another stage of mourning the hole will remain. In memory and hope that Doctor Who will return to us soon...

Amy Pond Nail Polish- Series 6

So, because I have no life really like Amy Pond, I decided that an important detail in any Amy cosplay is the nail polish. Which led me to going through my dvds of Series 6 to get screencaps of the various colors of her nail polish.

Let me tell you, it's not as easy as it sounds. Even I thought I'd have this little project done in an hour or two tops. It was more tedious than I thought because it took a while to go through each of the episodes and skim through to wait for a good angle or shot of Amy's nails. The other reason it took me a while is because I kept getting distracted and taking regular caps of shots that I liked. But, I'm all done now and you guys get to enjoy the fruits of my labor! I apologize in advance; some of the shots aren't that good quality and I enlarged them to make it a little easier to see her nails.

Latest Projects

Remember how I said that since I am on vacation I'd post more?

Yeah, sorry about that. I've spent more than half of this winter break sick and my mental capacity to do anything is shot to hell. But I have a couple things I've been working on.

One is a new Doctor Who fanfic. I already wrote it up but I want to fix it a bit before I let you wonderful people read it.

The second is a post about my visit to one of the main locations seen on White Collar. I won't say which location so as to keep it a bit of a surprise, but it was fun to go visit, I'll say that.

The third is a collection of images to show the colors of Amy's nail polish throughout Series 6. I'll get to Series 5 next.

Also, I'll probably have up a quick movie review of Captain America because I watched it a few days ago with a friend and I have a few thoughts to share about it.

Thanks again for sticking around and reading! You guys are awesome.

Le sigh...

I was doing so well with keeping this fairly regularly updated and I had readers and I was getting comments and everything was shiny... And then November came.

November is a rough month because of NaNo as I'm sure I mentioned in one of my previous posts. Not to mention that's when college finals start heating up. Unfortunately this year I did not complete my 50,000 word goal for a number of reasons.

Number 1: I got lazy, plain and simple. And I'm not afraid to admit it. Well, maybe a little afraid but there you go.

Number 2: I absolutely hated the first story I tried to write and ended up trying to start up a new story but because of some personal reasons I ended up hating the second idea more than the first, and by that time it was November 15 and I decided to stop stressing myself out and bow out.

Now, why did I not return to my blog? A little bit of embarrassment perhaps, but mostly finals started to take hold and I decided that the internet distracts me enough without adding my blog to the mix.

There you basically have why I haven't updated in almost two months. I'd like to get back to this, though, so now that I'm on my winter break maybe I'll get back to this.

If anyone is still out there, thanks for sticking around and coming back, and happy new year!
